Rev. John Zahl leads Bible Study each Wednesday at 11 a.m. in-person in the Vestry Room and also streaming live and on-demand at https://events.locallive.tv/worship/st-matthews-episc-ny. We are studying the somewhat cryptic, and endlessly existential Book of Ecclesiastes. Join us any Wednesday, and discover where both Shakespere and, later, The Byrds (1964) found inspiration. Have your Bible in hand. All are welcome.
John Zahl will be teaching a special Sunday morning class throughout October, starting Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. in between the 8 and 10 a.m. services. It will be called Grace in Practice: A Theology of Everyday Life. The class will be based on Paul Zahl’s book by that name; John considers this to be his father’s magnum opus. Topics will include: Grace in Theology, Grace in Families, Grace in the Church, Grace in Society, & Grace in Everything.
The Rev. John Zahl occasionally leads a film-based discussion series for Lent and Advent.
This class is designed for adults who would like to be confirmed into the Episcopal Church, to reaffirm their confirmation vows, or to be received into the Episcopal Church during the Bishop's annual confirmation visit. Please contact Rev. John Zahl or Rev. Drew Courtright for more information.
